ProTips massage heads provide low- to high-impact therapy to treat various muscle sizes and densities.

The responsive touchscreen with SpeedLock™ makes it easy to use, and the 10-inch footprint and weight of 2.5 lbs. make it easy to handle.

Playmakar MVP+ unboxing

As a seasoned percussion massager user, I was excited to test out PlayMakar’s new MVP+ Percussion Massager and see what it brings to the already crowded market of massage guns.

Right out of the box, the MVP+ comes ready to use with all the necessary attachments, mains charger, and of course, the massager itself.

While not much else is included in the package, besides a manual, everything is laid out clearly and easy to set up.

Using the massager is a breeze.

Simply select the attachment head you want to use, flick on the on/off switch at the bottom, and control the intensity with the LED screen on the back of the gun.

On/off switch located at the bottom

What sets the MVP Percussion Massager apart from other guns is its pause button, which allows you to easily stop and start the massager without having to scroll all the way back to your desired intensity again.

The build quality of the massager is impressive. It has a solid, evenly weighted-feel and is comfortable to hold.

The matte finish of the MVP+ also looks and feels great.

The MVP+ has six speeds controlled via the LED screen

The LED screen is clear, and all the buttons you can press on it are responsive.

The attachments are also of good quality and have a smooth, rubbery feel.

While I appreciate the attention to detail in the design, I wish the massager had a case to keep the attachments and the gun in to help keep things organized.

The MVP+ comes with four attachment heads

While a case can be purchased separately, I think it’s a bit of a letdown that such an essential accessory is not included in the overall package.

Nonetheless, this does not detract from the massager’s build quality and presentation.

The massage: Is it effective?

I have used the PlayMakar MVP+ percussion massager for a few weeks and have formed an overall opinion.

My use for massagers is to release tightness from daily aches and post-workout muscle loosening. This is the main criteria I am using to form my opinions.

The PlayMakar MVP+ is particularly useful on bony and tender areas rather than very fleshy areas, as it lacks some extreme power of other massage guns to penetrate deeper muscles.

However, this makes it ideal for tender, delicate, or sore areas. For example, it worked wonders for my neck and released trigger points along the main neck muscles.

The other area I found it worked wonders on was the upper traps.

Using the AcuTrigger attachment (the one shaped like a bullet), I felt it released a lot of tightness in that area, and I used it every night to release daily tension built over the day.

The Theragun PRO vs the PlayMakar MVP

In terms of power, it may not be as powerful as some other massage guns, but this is not necessarily a bad thing. I found it more effective in my sore areas than the market leader, Theragun PRO.

Unlike other percussion massagers, the PlayMakar MVP+ is very quiet in comparison to the competition, making it a great massager to use at any time of the day, even at night or early morning when others in your home are still asleep.

It is also very comfortable to hold and has a good weight, so your arm will unlikely tire after holding it for a while. The battery life is impressive, with a fully charged battery lasting a long time.

I used it for very long sessions every day for a week before the battery drained, which means there is no real need to worry about additional batteries.

The PlayMakar MVP+ is a great percussion massager for releasing tightness in bony and tender areas.

It is quiet, comfortable to hold, and has a long battery life. It may not be as powerful as some other massage guns, but it makes up for it with its effectiveness on sore areas and smoothness.

Should you buy the PlayMakar MVP Percussion Massager?

The PlayMakar MVP Percussion Massager’s effectiveness depends on the user’s preferences and needs for power.

If you are looking for a less powerful and quieter option, the PlayMakar MVP is a good choice.

It provides a smoother and more relaxing massage than more powerful massage guns and has six intensity levels for customization.

It is also great value for money and comes with a 2-year warranty.

It is effective for muscle tightness or pain and can be used before or after exercise or for long periods of sitting.

The MVP+ Percussion Massage Gun is a great option for those who want a quality massage gun at an affordable price that is durable and will last a long time.
