Sunny Health & Fitness Video Overview

Who is Sunny Health & Fitness?

Price: 4.5/5

The Sunny Air Walk Trainer is often priced between $90-100, however, on some sites you can get it for as low as $70 including free shipping. For what it is, the Sunny Air Walk Trainer is good value for money.

A lot of people who had/have an interest in the Gazelle Freestyle or the Gazelle Supreme will be drawn towards the Sunny Air Walk Trainer, as it’s less than half the price and a lot smaller than the Gazelle models.

Reliability & Warranty: 4/5

There’s not much that can go wrong with the Sunny Air Walk Trainer due to its simplicity. As long as you’re adhering to the maximum user weight requirements and not pushing the machine too hard, there shouldn’t be any long-term problems.

There have been a handful of incidents reported on Amazon whereby machines have developed squeaks, however many of these were fixed by readjusting certain bolts or by greasing the parts that were creating the noises.

Although we do not know the specifics of the warranty, the Sunny Air Walk Trainer is covered for 90 days, which is pretty good for such a low priced machine.

Stability and Quality: 3.5/5

Bearing in mind that the Sunny Air Walk Trainer costs under $70, it is surprisingly sturdy. It is made up of steel poles held together by bolts, so as long as these are kept tight, it should be fairly stable.

That being said the Sunny Air Walk Trainer is only as stable as the ‘dimensions’ of the user. If a user is particularly heavy, they may experience some rocking. In this case, it would probably be a good idea to consider a heavy duty machine instead.

The Sunny Air Walk Trainer has a weight capacity of 220lb, which is much lower than the standard 300lb limit that most machines can handle. If you are on the heavy side but want something similar to the Sunny Air Walk Trainer, then consider the Gazelle Freestyle which has a 300lb max user weight. Furthermore, it is a sturdier machine yet offers the same type of experience.

Tall people (over 6ft) may also find that the stride length on the Sunny Air Walk Trainer is too small. Although I couldn’t find the exact stride length anywhere, I believe it to be between 14-17 inches.

Resistance: 1.5/5

A big flaw of the Sunny Air Walk Trainer is that there is only one level of resistance, which is the default setting.

You cannot increase or decrease the resistance through a tension knob or computer. This makes the Sunny Air Walk Trainer an elliptical where you can max out the machine and potentially outgrow it. People who are already fit and are looking for a challenge, will not want to buy the Sunny Air Walk Trainer and should look at a more expensive machine.

Despite the fact that the Sunny Air Walk Trainer doesn’t offer much in terms of resistance, has not stopped owners from tweaking their machines to create their own. There have been recommendations from users on Amazon to wrap bungee cords around the legs of the trainer to create more tension. In addition, some people have resorted to buying ankle and wrist weights to make their workouts more intense. Surprisingly, owners seem to be extremely happy with using such methods on their own Sunny Air Walk Trainers.

Size & Assembly: 4.5/5

One of the major selling points of the Sunny Air Walk Trainer is how small and compact it is. When in its fully extended position it barely takes up any space and it’s footprint remains small. It’s also light and easy to move even for smaller people. It is also foldable, however, it’s folded position isn’t much different to it’s unfolded position.

Not only is the Sunny Air Walk Trainer simple to use, but it’s also simple to put together. Many of the ellipticals on the market can involve complex instructions and diagrams and can take up to 3 hours to assemble, however, the Sunny Air Walk Trainer is intuitive to put together and should take between 5-10 minutes.

Noise: 4/5

The Sunny Air Walk Trainer is a quiet machine since there is no motor needed for it to run. It’s basically a set of steel poles pivoting from bolts almost like a child’s swing on a metal climbing frame. As we mentioned earlier it is possible that ‘squeaking’ can develop, but this can be rectified.

Features: 3/5

As you can imagine the Sunny Air Walk Trainer comes with the bare bones in terms of features. It has a small digital monitor which measures, time, distance travelled and calories.

Should I Buy the Sunny Air Walk Trainer?

For an elliptical, the Sunny Air Walk Trainer is as simple as it gets. As we mentioned earlier people who are looking to develop a high level of fitness or already consider themselves fit, will be disappointed with the Sunny Air Walk Trainer as there are no levels of resistance. It is not a very challenging machine.

Even though a lack of resistance controls is damaging to the benefits of any cardio machine, the Sunny Air Walk Trainer uses this to its advantage and targets a particular person who does not care about resistance.

Such a person may be one of the following:

  1. Somebody who wants to just get some movement, and watch TV at the same time
  2. Somebody slightly older who doesn’t need an intense workout and wants something low impact
  3. Somebody who sits all day and wants to stretch their legs at the end of the day
  4. Somebody who has never done any exercise and wants an easy workout they can get started with

Not only is the Sunny Air Walk Trainer well catered to the individuals mentioned above, but its low price makes it a low-risk purchase. It’s also extremely small and light and perfect for someone who is put off by the larger, heavier and bulkier ellipticals.

If you want a light workout at a low price, then you’ll find the Sunny Air Walk Trainer well suited to your needs.
